EIA weekly data: Ethanol production down 3%, stocks down 3%, exports down 21%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 3% the week ending Sept. 26, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 1. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 3% and exports fell by 21%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 995,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 26, down 29,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.024 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Sept. 26 was down 20,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.764 million barrels the week ending Sept. 26, down 704,000 barrels when compared to the 23.468 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Sept. 26 were down 695,000 barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol fell to 88,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 26, down 24,000 barrels per day when compared to the 112,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Sept. 26 were down 14,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Sept. 26.
