The latest Sustainable Brand Index survey highlights SAS’s strong position as a pioneer in eco-friendly aviation, reinforcing its commitment to greener air travel.
Sustainable Brand Index Recognizes SAS’s Leadership
As Europe’s largest independent brand study, the Sustainable Brand Index evaluates consumer perceptions of corporate sustainability. Since 2019, Danish consumers have consistently rated SAS as the most sustainable airline, securing the top spot for the sixth consecutive year. In Sweden, SAS has dominated the category since 2011, marking its 14th win in the survey.
Consumer Insights and Rankings
The study gathered insights from 10,000 Danish and 25,000 Swedish consumers, who assessed 260 Danish and 434 Swedish brands based on their alignment with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These rankings reflect SAS’s strong reputation for environmental responsibility and its ongoing sustainability efforts.
SAS Expands Fleet with Eco-Friendly Aircraft
In its ongoing push for sustainability, SAS expanded its fleet in 2024, adding twelve Airbus A320neo and one Airbus A350-900 while retiring older, fuel-intensive aircraft. With a total of 73 A320neos, SAS has positioned itself among Europe’s largest operators of new-generation aircraft, significantly reducing emissions.
