The U.S. exported 172.27 million gallons of ethanol in April and 894,197 metric tons of distillers grains, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on June 4. Exports of both products remained strong, but were down when compared to April 2024.
The 172.27 million gallons of ethanol exported in April was down when compared to the 195.8 million gallons exported the previous month and the 214.2 million gallons exported in April of last year.
The U.S. exported ethanol to approximately four dozen countries in April. Cana was the top destination for U.S. ethanol exports at 54.87 million gallons, followed by the Netherlands at 30.78 million gallons and India at 20.15 million gallons.
The value of U.S. ethanol exports felt o $379.29 million in April, down from both $421.66 million in March and $477.09 million in April 2024.
Total U.S. ethanol exports for the first four months of the year reached 704.86 million gallons at a value of $1.51 billion, compared to 662.5 million gallons exported during the same period of last year at a value of $1.49 billion.
The 894,197 metric tons of distillers grains exported in April was down when compared to both the $1.03 million metric tons exported the previous month and the 970,164 metric tons exported in April of last year.
The U.S exported distillers grains to approximately 35 countries in April. Mexico was the top destination for U.S. distillers grains exports at 184,210 metric tons, followed by South Korea at 128,911 metric tons and Indonesia at 78,282 metric tons.
The value of U.S. distillers grains exports fell to $214.16 million in April, down from $253.53 million in March and $262.52 million in April 2024.
Total U.S. distillers grains exports for the first four months of 2025 reached 3.58 million metric tons at a value of $869.23 million, compared to 3.91 million metric tons exported during the same period of 2024 at a value of $1.11 billion.
