The U.S. exported 185.03 million gallons of ethanol and 1.07 million metric tons of distillers grains in October, according to date released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Jan. 8. Exports of both products were up when compared to the previous month.
The 185 million gallons of ethanol exported in October was up when compared to both the 148.4 million gallons exported the previous month and the 162.98 million gallons exported in October 2024.
The U.S. exported ethanol to nearly 40 countries in October. Canada was the top destination for U.S. ethanol exports at 90.65 million gallons, followed by the Netherlands at 41.42 million gallons and the U.K. at 13.22 million gallons. The value of U.S. ethanol exports reached $383.94 million in October, up from $346.58 million in September and $345.22 million in October of the previous year.
Total ethanol exports for the first 10 months of 2025 reached 1.75 billion gallons at a value of $3.81 billion, compared to 1.55 billion gallons exported during the same period of 2024 at a value of $3.5 billion.
The 1.07 million metric tons of distillers grains exported in October was up when compared to the 1.06 million metric tons exported the previous month, but down from slightly when compared to the volume of exports reported for October 2024.
The U.S. exported distillers grains to more than three dozen countries in October. Mexico was the top destination for U.S. distillers grains exports at 189,467 metric tons, followed by South Korea at 144,665 metric tons and Turkey at 117,880 metric tons.
