Investing.com -- Chicago wheat reached its highest level in two years on Thursday after attacks on grain vessels and port infrastructure in the Black Sea region led ship owners to halt port arrivals.
Soybeans and corn also rose, following higher crude prices.
The most-active wheat contract on the Chicago Board of Trade was up 0.5% to $7.09-1/2 a bushel by 1205 GMT, marking its highest point since May 2024.
Soybeans climbed 0.7% to $12.47-1/4 a bushel while corn gained 0.9% to $4.89 a bushel.
Ukraine’s agriculture minister stated that ship owners temporarily stopped vessel arrivals at Ukraine’s Black Sea ports for agricultural exports following a recent increase in Russian attacks on ports and merchant shipping.
