U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 1% the week ending July 4, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on July 9. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 1% and exports were down 8%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.085 million barrels per day the week ending July 4, up 9,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.076 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending July 4 was up 31,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 23.959 million barrels the week ending July 4, down 158,000 barrels when compared to the 24.117 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending July 4 were up 356,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 121,000 barrels per day the week ending July 4, down 10,000 barrels per day when compared to the 131,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending July 4 were down 61,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending July 4.
