U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by more than 1% the week ending Aug. 1, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 6. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down nearly 4% and exports were down 25%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.081 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 1, down 15,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.096 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 1 was up 14,000 barrels per day.
Stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 23.756 million barrels the week ending Aug. 1, down 960,000 barrels when compared to the 24.716 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 1 were down 11,000 barrels.
Fuel ethanol exports averaged 116,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 1, down 38,000 barrels per day when compared to the 154,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Aug. 1 were down 94,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Aug. 1.
