U.S. fuel ethanol production was down nearly 1% the week ending July 18, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on July 23. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up 3% and exports expanded by 15%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.078 million barrels per day the week ending July 18, down 9,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.087 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending July 18 was down 17,000 barrels per day.
Stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 24.444 million barrels the week ending July 18, up 809,000 barrels when compared to the 23.635 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending July 18 were up 721,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 108,000 barrels per day the week ending July 18, up 14,000 barrels per day when compared to the 94,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending July 18 were up 51,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending July 18.
