U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded slightly the week ending Oct. 10, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 16. Ethanol stocks were down slightly, and exports fell by approximately 22%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.074 million barrels per day the week ending Oct. 10, up 3,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.071 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Oct. 10 was up 32,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.628 million barrels the week ending Oct. 10, down 92,000 barrels when compared to the 22.72 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Oct. 10 were up 353,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 108,000 barrels per day the week ending Oct. 10, down 30,000 barrels per day when compared to the 138,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Oct. 10 were down 32,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Oct. 10.
