Ethanol stock jumps after securing order for advanced low-carbon solution from US-based ethanol Co.

This company is a leading biotechnology and engineering company globally. With market capitalization of Rs. 6,488 cr, the shares of Praj Industries Ltd are currently trading at Rs. 352.60 per share, increasing nearly 2% in today’s market session making a high of Rs. 354, from its previous close of Rs. 347.15 per share.

About the project

Praj Industries Limited is supplying an advanced low-carbon solution for a $30 million energy efficiency upgrade at Aemetis’ 65 million gallon-per-year ethanol plant in Keyes, California, involving the integration of a Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) system. 

The project is executed by NPL Construction Co. (a Centuri Holdings subsidiary) and supported by 19.7 million dollars in grants and tax credits, is expected to be completed by Q2 2026. 

Once operational, it will reduce natural gas usage by 80%, generate an estimated $32 million in annual energy savings, lower the carbon intensity of ethanol production, increase LCFS credits, and expand eligibility for Section 45Z tax credits. This upgrade strengthens plant efficiency, sustainability, and profitability, while supporting California’s clean energy goals and Praj’s role as a global low-carbon technology provider.
