India cancels green hydrogen hubs tender and offers refunds to disappointed bidders

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a government agency that runs renewables tenders, has cancelled a call for proposals to set up at least two green hydrogen hubs by the end of March next year.

The agency had launched its call in August last year, offering two billion rupees ($23.3m) in total.

However, each hub was also required to produce at least 100,000 tonnes a year of H2, which Hydrogen Insight estimates would require several hundred megawatts of installed electrolyser capacity (depending on efficiency and source of upstream renewables).
