ITM Power secures 300MW electrolyser deal for APAC green hydrogen plant

ITM Power will provide over 300MW of electrolysers to an unnamed customer in the Asia-Pacific region for a green hydrogen power plant, which is expected to supply thermal power generation.

Backed with funding approval from the local authorities, the project remains subject to a final investment decision (FID).

“We are delighted to work with our customer to advance the engineering, permitting and wider plant integration to drive this large-scale project to FID,” explained Dennis Schulz, ITM Power’s CEO.

Already this month, ITM Power has signed electrolyser supply deals with Uniper and an undisclosed Spanish cement producer.

Uniper plans to use six of ITM’s 20MW Poseidon process modules at its Humber H2ub project, which has been shortlisted for the second Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR2).

ITM Power will also supply a 2MW Neptune II electrolyser to Spain. The electrolyser will generate hydrogen that will be blended with natural gas in a cement kiln to help reduce CO2 emissions.
