US green hydrogen technology firm Plug Power has been lined up to supply 2GW of its proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers to a planned $5.5bn green hydrogen and chemicals project in Uzbekistan.
The project’s Australian developer, Allied Green Ammonia (AGA), wants to make green hydrogen-based fuels and chemicals at the giant complex, including sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs), green urea for fertiliser and “green diesel”.
The preliminary sales agreement will be signed in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent tomorrow during an investment forum in the city, Plug Power said today (Monday), adding that the project has the backing of Uzbekistan’s government.
