POWERGRID Invites Bids for Solar PV-Powered Green Hydrogen and Microgrid Pilot Project in Rajasthan

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Government of India enterprise, has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a cutting-edge pilot project. The initiative, titled “T&D-Pilot Package GH2-01,” aims to establish a Solar PV-powered Green Hydrogen Plant and a Fuel Cell-based Microgrid system at the 400/220 kV Neemrana Sub-station in Rajasthan. The project includes a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) contract.

This pilot project forms part of POWERGRID’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The scope of work encompasses design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, installation, integration, commissioning, and testing. It also includes obtaining statutory approvals, training, and providing mandatory spares.

The project will follow a single-stage, two-envelope bidding process under domestic competitive bidding (DCB) rules via POWERGRID’s e-procurement portal. Interested bidders can download the bidding documents from POWERGRID’s portal or the Government of India’s Central Public Procurement Portal. The deadline for bid submission is December 28, 2024, with the technical bids set to open the same day.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled at POWERGRID’s Gurugram office on December 11, 2024, to address bidder queries. Bidders are advised to complete registration on the e-tendering portal and ensure compliance with all submission guidelines.

This initiative underlines POWERGRID’s focus on advancing renewable energy infrastructure, aligning with India’s green energy goals. Further details are available on POWERGRID’s website or through their dedicated contact channels.
