Net sales of Upland cotton in the US totalled 86,100 running bales (RB), each weighing 226.8 kg (500 pounds), for the 2025–26 marketing year during the week ending September 18, 2025. This was 54 per cent lower than the previous week’s 1,86,100 RB and 53 per cent below the prior four-week average.
According to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) weekly export sales report, sales increases were primarily for India (27,300 RB), Turkiye (22,300 RB, including 3,700 RB switched from Pakistan), Bangladesh (15,400 RB), Vietnam (13,500 RB), and Italy (4,400 RB). These gains were partially offset by reductions for Pakistan (3,700 RB) and Peru (100 RB).
Export shipments of 137,200 RB were up 14 per cent from the previous week and 6 per cent from the prior four-week average. The main destinations were Vietnam (41,700 RB), India (21,000 RB), Bangladesh (20,600 RB), Mexico (8,500 RB), and Turkiye (8,500 RB).
Net sales of Pima cotton totalled 8,500 RB for 2025–26, up 66 per cent from the previous week and well above the prior four-week average. Increases were mainly for Colombia (6,400 RB), Pakistan (900 RB), Bangladesh (800 RB), India (400 RB), and Guatemala (100 RB).
Export shipments of 5,200 RB were significantly higher than the previous week but down 22 per cent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were India (3,300 RB), Peru (1,300 RB), Bangladesh (300 RB), Vietnam (200 RB), and Indonesia (100 RB).
