EIA weekly data: Ethanol production down slightly, stocks down 1%, exports down 30%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell slightly the week ending Aug. 22, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 27. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down nearly 1% and exports were down 30%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.07 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 22, down 2,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.072 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 22 was down 1,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.549 million barrels the week ending Aug. 22, down 139,000 barrels when compared to the 22.688 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 22 were down 1.023 million barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 121,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 22, down 51,000 barrels per day when compared to the 172,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Aug. 22 were down 24,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Aug. 22.
